The reel you have come to know and love, has been redesigned and upgraded. With a single piece aluminium Monocoque (MQ) body, this Saltist Spinning Reel is now better equipped than ever to take on the rigors of South African saltwater fishing.

Due to a Magseal roller clutch bearing combined with the MQ body and extra seals, the Saltist MQ is one of the most protected reels that Daiwa has ever produced. The single piece Monocoque (MQ) body houses a larger diameter Tough Digigear. Designed to transfer all of the power delivered through the handle to your line. So, this ultimately stops fish in their tracks.

There is a tubular hollow Air Bail on the Saltist MQ. As a result, this improves line management and line flow back into the line roller for unmatched performance with even the lightest braids.

The Saltist MQ has something to cater to every corner of the country. Whether you’re looking for a strong, tough, small spinning to fish our coastal estuaries and rivers, or a large heavy tackle spinning reel suited to casting lures & dropping baits for reef species and pelagics.

Complete with a Magsealed Roller Clutch bearing on the main shaft to maximize protection from the elements. As a result, you will be ready to take on the even the toughest of battles.

There is a slight chamfer that allows the line to seemingly fall off without getting hung up. This leads to longer casts for those trying to get their baits out past the breakers. This is also helpful when throwing lures into a crazy boil where a few extra meters could be the difference between getting it in the strike zone or not.

All Saltist MQ models are now equipped with the Aluminium Round Knob to offer the best grip and stability.

Looking for a new saltwater spinning reel capable of standing up to the test? Look no further than the Daiwa Saltist MQ!
